JES2Mail and JES2FTP
Success Stories
Idaho Power saves money and improves productivity with JES2Mail

As part of the company’s continuing focus on increasing efficiency and streamlining IT operations,
Idaho Power installed the JES2Mail product in 2001. The results have been impressive. “We just
set up the JCL and route it to a file”, says Greg Farrington, IT Operations Supervisor, adding that
roughly 200 production jobs take advantage of JES2Mail. The software allows reports to be
automatically sent to Idaho Power users instead of to a printer. Farrington goes on to explain that
the IT organization, which used to go through several boxes of paper each night, has reduced
that to approximately a single ream per night.

Orange County Register Saves Time and Money

Before JES2Mail, the Register’s Finance division would print thousands of pages of reports
on a daily basis. Employees would spend hours each day bursting, sorting, stacking,
distributing and archiving the reports. Then, user clients from various departments would
pick up the reports and spend more valuable time thumbing through stacks of paper
looking for the specific pages they needed.

Hancock Bank uses JES2Mail to provide electronic bank statements

JES2Mail and JES2FTP provided Hancock the ability to take their current
mainframe report content and create PDF e-Statements that combined the
customer statement data with the associated check images. Hancock
captured AFP-formatted statement data, combined this with the TIFF (ABIC)
check images, and used JES2FTP and JES2Mail to create a PDF electronic
statement and return check image overlaid with its logo and graphics. These
were placed on either an FTP server for customer research and inquiry or
the e-statements were delivered via email to customers.
